Washington belonged to a proud veteran named Roger. Roger was a Montpelier fixture selling his pies and pickles in front of Christ Church. His theatrical flair, his cutting observations, and his eccentric way of showing love endeared him to all those that knew him. He loved Montpelier and its people. Washington became locally famous for having awakened Roger one night when a lamp had started a fire in his apartment, thereby saving Roger's life and the building at the Lane Shops. Washington is such a kind and gentle boy. This cat is pure love.
When Roger passed away, one of the church parishioners took Washington in and brought him to see us for a check up. Washington was in dire need of a dental and was in a lot of discomfort. It was our pleasure to assist Washington and we are so thankful to Elizabeth for providing him a loving home.
